Biking Hangzhou #14 Scholars’ Bike Club July 2016

Jackson, one of my 100 Scholars that first year in China, invited me to join their ride one month before leaving school.

Here we are near Yuewang Temple
Rain abated for part of this 20k street bike ride.

I was honored to be asked by one of my most amazing Scholars to join them. I’d warned him, “even though I bike to work most days and Mr. Aton tried killing me with that unexpected 75k Death Ride, I might night keep up with y’all. I don’t want to slow y’all down.”

Jackson and Alan were more than accommodating, putting my fears to rest.

One of the novices’ bike had major issues – he called his folks to come get him less than halfway through.

This novice didn’t even bring a helmet? This was one of the few bike / jogging paths available during this “street” ride.

Three riders were experienced. Three under-prepared novices ~ Can you pick which were which?
