SS Thistlegorm – Best Dives Ever

Dive Buddy’s, Ebihardt Niemes’, brilliant camerawork, capturing train car, left above divers’ bubbles, which was blown clear of Hold #4 in October 1941. Other shots of our Dive Master, Peter Bruce, and I tripping through the 4th – 3rd Holds. Check out at Oonas Dive Club and Hotel when you’re in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Don’t get me wrong, I love coral reef and deep dives, but swimming through HISTORY is like nothing else. After looking at footage from Jacques Coustaeu’s intense 1956, I realize, many of the fish filmed were not seen during our dive. Perhaps they’re seasonal? Or food sources for those particular fish no longer grow, after all it’s been 65 years. Regardless, shining our flashlights on many schools of fish within the recesses of this ship was fascinating. I don’t who was more shocked, us or the fish!
