One day a novice handed me the complete lyrics to “Yesterday, Once More,” by The Carpenters and asked, “Can you sing?” After mangling the first part, I remembered the melody and rhythm and sang the chorus. “I used to listen to this group on 8-track tapes when I was younger than you.” I told them, with Michele’s help.
